Born in Mexico City , Pablo Garibay began studying guitar in 1993 with Prof. Ivan Risquez. In 1995, he continued with Prof. Juan Carlos Laguna at the National University of Mexico UNAM. For one year in 2000, he studied with Prof. Thomas Müller-Pering, in the “Hochschule für Music Franz Liszt” in Weimar, Germany.
He has taken master classes with David Russell, Carlo Marchione , Manuel Barrueco, Oscar Ghiglia, Sergio Assad, Paolo Pegoraro, Giampaolo Bandini, Hans Kaufmann, Margarita Escargpa, Ricardo Gallén, among others. In 2001, he released the work "Los 4 Elementos" of Mateo Barreiro, in the International Forum of New Music Manuel Enríquez. And in 2005 the work "Rondó" of the Venezuelan Diógenes Rivas. In South Africa he released “Concierto del Sur de Manuel Ponce” together with the Chamber Orchestra of South Africa, under Richard Koch's direction. Also he released works of the Mexican composers Jorge Ritter, Ernesto García de León and Juan Helguera.
He has been a soloist of the Symphonic Juvenile Orchestra of the Mexico City , Orchestra Sinaloa of the Arts; under the direction of JoAnn Falletta, of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City and the Philharmonic of Buffalo; also of the Chamber Orchestra of Wallonie (Belgium).
He has realized four recordings, in Belgium with Wallonie's Orchestra, in Mexico with Urtext and Radio UNAM, in Spain with RTVE music. Garibay has taken part in projects of chamber music with the clarinettist Rodrigo Garibay, with the cellista Gustavo Martín, and with the guitarist Juan Carlos Laguna.
He has obtained prizes in national and international contests of classic guitar: Manuel M. Ponce (D.F.), René Bartoli (France), JoAnn Falletta (Buffalo, USA), Printemps de la Guitare (Belgium), Koblenz , (Germany), Guitar Art (Belgrade, Serbia and Montenegro), Gevelsberg (Germany), Bath (England)...as well as the national contest of guitar "Paracho". He was a scholar of the FONCA and in 2003, he became deserving of the "National Prize of the youth 2002" delivered by the President of Mexico.
